Our Guest Speaker

Jamie Murray Wells OBE is Head of XR Platform Enablement at Google, where his principal focus is on establishing new product areas, with a particular focus on Extended Reality ecosystems, innovation & product partnerships.

Prior to Google, Jamie founded and lead Glasses Direct for 10 years, during which it became Europe’s largest online glasses retailer.

He served as an advisor for 3 years on the Shadow Chancellor's New Enterprise Council from 2007-2010, after which he co-founded entrepreneurship campaigning organisation StartUp Britain at No.10 Downing Street, which was announced in the Chancellor’s 2011 budget speech, and launched by the Prime Minister.

In 2009 Jamie received the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion. He was appointed OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2015.
